Summer GMC Vehicle Care
June 22, 2009 by jcme
The summer driving season can be hard on your GMC vehicle. If you want to prepare your GMC car or truck for the stress of high temps and increase its reliability on trips, here are some things to keep in mind:

First, make sure the tires on your GMC are inflated and that the treads are in good condition. This will prevent tire failure, and help increase your gas mileage.
You should also make sure to regularly check your hoses and. Look for cracked hoses and belts. If you see signs of wear, replace them.

Engine coolant is also especially important during the summer months. Make sure that the levels are high enough, and that the mixture of coolant and water is correct.
Your motor oil needs to be full and free of debris during the summer, as well. If you’re towing a heavy trailer or if your area gets especially hot, you should consider a higher viscosity oil.
Thinking about a new GMC vehicle for that summer road trip? Come and see your local GMC dealer today.
